MANILA (AFP) - Ten Filipino miners have been arrested in Saudi Arabia in connection with the gruesome killings of six people whose bodies were found dismembered, the foreign office said Monday.

Investigators believe the body parts, recovered on April 4 in southern Jeddah, were likely those of six other Filipino workers who have gone missing, it said.

The victims and suspects all worked for the Saudi Arabian Mining Co., the foreign office added without divulging further details.

The 10 have been isolated and can be detained for 60 days under Saudi law even without charge, Filipino diplomats there said.
